About

A little bit about who I am

I am an experienced individual within the Health and Social Care sector, I have worked as a Health and Social Care Assessor and as a mental health project worker, which included working with service users who required support with Housing issues, Homelessness and Substance misuse.

I have experience of working with the Community Mental Health Team in the Exeter area, including supporting clients to get the most from their CMHT, engaging with consultants, GPs as well as supporting people with engaging with other organisations.

I have also worked with young people to prevent offending, and I have a degree in Youth and Community work from Marjon University Plymouth.

My experience tells me that despite the NHS and others providing treatment and support, too many people are still left to struggle. Services are stretched and so there is only so much that the NHS can do. It is probably universally accepted that if there is a gap in provision, it is that daily or weekly contact with a mental health worker to get alongside someone. In other words, floating support can make all the difference with someone’s mental wellbeing, self esteem and future life.

I believe Devon Recovery & Independence can help with filling those important gaps and thereby improve the lives of those I seek to support.
